9-12-2009 Post Rally

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. These pictures are worth trillions.

If those that have no respect for others are allowed to illegally ram through their progressive, socialistic, fascist, marxist legislation then our entire country will soon look like this garbage filled wasteland instead of the pristine country she does when true constitutional conservatives at the wheel.

The last twitter report I read said that the DC police were reporting that the 9-12 rally numbers exceeded the inauguration numbers, so it will be interesting to see what the final numbers really are. There should be updates on FOX this evening.

Rep. Marsha Blackburn ~ “You have redefined  ‘gridlock’ in Washington, DC!”

NRO Report ~ Perhaps the most interesting thing about the crowd was how friendly and civil it was.

UK MailOnline ~ Up to two million march to US Capitol to protest against Obama’s spending in ‘tea-party’ demonstration

FYI – The aerial image has been shown to be a fake. See http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2338835/posts It is apparently from the Promise Keepers March.

[PATLIN: THANKS, DULY NOTED AND CORRECTED]

Thank you for this post, especially the first two photots! Really tells a story!

You’re aerial picture showing the National Mall is from Promise Keepers 10/4/97. It was disappointing to see it posted on a conservative blog, especially when so many are hopeful that an aerial of 9/12 would eventually show up.
Might wanna take that one down.

[PATLIN: CRITICS EVERYWHERE. I WANT TO KNOW WHEN IT WAS AGAINST GOD’S LAW TO MAKE AN HONEST MISTAKE, PLEASE READ THE CORRECTION BELOW THE PHOTO AND THEN GO SAY A PRAYER FOR MAKING A JUDGEMENT IN WHICH YOU HAVE NO AUTHORITY TO MAKE AGAINST ME. I DO NOT DELETE MY POST CONTENTS, THEY STAND AS POSTED WITH THE APPRPRIATE CORRECTIONS]

As much I would like to believe the second-to-last picture in this post came from the 9/12 DC rally, I cannot because I was there. There are at least four reasons why that picture is not from Saturday:

    1. No one was on the National Mall grass because we didn’t have the permits secured to be on it.
    2. The Capitol lawn in this picture is empty. On Saturday, the Capitol lawn was full.
    3. The stage for the event was set up in front of the Capitol steps, not in front of the Reflecting Pool.
    4. On Saturday, there were large tents set up near 14th Street on the National Mall that were up all day. There are no such tents in this picture.

Please don’t make us hurt our credibility by mixing in pictures that are clearly not from the event. You will get called on it by the other side.

The second picture was posted on free republic on January 29, 2009 and is purported to be a Promise Keepers Photo.

    Please remove the photo.

[PATLIN: AS REPORTED, I CORRECT, I AM NOT THE MSM, THEREFORE I DO NOT COVER-UP MY MISTAKES]

I’m referring to the photo with the Washington Monument in the foreground on a bright and sunny day. The 9/12 event was a cloudy day.

2 million? I could shout “You lie!” but I prefer to simply note that your claim appears to rest on faulty information.

    http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/article/2009/sep/14/tea-party-photo-shows-large-crowd-different-event/

Come on, 70,000 is still a good-sized party. No need to exaggerate….

[PATLIN: WHERE DID I CLAIM ANYTHING, I REPORTED WHAT WAS TWEETED AND SAID WE WILL WAIT TO SEE THE FINAL NUMBERS]

  10. larsolfen September 14, 2009 at 7:49 pm

Your aerial photo of the mall on 9/12 is not of the mall on 9/12. I was standing at the steps of the capital and the grassy area to the west of the steps toward the reflecting pool was packed with people. There were portolets on Pennsylvania Ave between the pool and Dept of Labor building, this area was also under construction, wet and somewhat muddy. None of this is reflected in the photo. Fabricating evidence to support the turnout of this most important movement is fraudulent at best. Take the photo down and research it’s origins at once. I support the assertion there were between 850k and 2m in attendance. We spoke to people on buses on the 95, which was “a parking lot” so many weren’t able to make it. In Liberty.

“GO SAY A PRAYER FOR MAKING A JUDGEMENT IN WHICH YOU HAVE NO AUTHORITY TO MAKE AGAINST ME.”

I didn’t make any personal judgment against you. I expressed my personal disappointment that it was (now known in error) posted on a conservative blog. I linked your blog to other blogs with excitement that an aerial photograph WAS taken. And had to apologize when it’s being another event was pointed out to me. I came back here to let you know and suggest that you remove it. Not so that you’d look like you were hiding something, but so that others wouldn’t make the same mistake *we* did.

Like Asleepnomore said, “Please don’t make us hurt our credibility by mixing in pictures that are clearly not from the event. You will get called on it by the other side.”

It makes us look deceitful, and that’s exactly what the liberals are looking for to distract from the impact that we made this weekend.

Your commentors asking you to remove the photo wasn’t to provoke you to go on the defensive and feel like you’d be covering up a mistake, it was asking you to correct the mistake by removing it.

It’s just a good example of the importance of checking things out before going public with them.

    Peace,
    Sally

[PATLIN: Sally aka usuallyw, I appreciate your reference to my site, however no one is perfect & I got the photo from another(what I thought) was a reliable conservative site. I got bit and I will do more diligence in the future before posting references from other sites. Correcting is making note to inform readers so they can see the mistake as I have done(the photo still has signficant meaning for conservatives), complete removal is cover-up and there will be none of that here at my site. And BTW…the professional & courteous thing for you to do would have been for you to leave your website address when you used my site for referrence.]

For better estimation, [delete..no leftest advertising here] I used my own devised methodology and formula to justify my calculus. And I invite everyone to examine it and offer his/her insight.

P.S. The photo on the left is taken facing away from the 3rd St. toward the National Mall and Washington Monument which was NOT occupied by the Tea Party attendees. Please try honestly for a change.

[patlin: sorry, but the photo came from a twitter that day..also, go plug your leftest site somewhere else. For someone who has only written 2 posts in 2 months blasting conservatives, you do have some kahonas coming here and criticing my site. You are welcome back anytime, however, this is my personal site and I choose who’s site links get published and who’s do not]
