Taking “Nay-Sayers” to Task

For those that know me, I was never a so called “political activist”. In fact, the most I had done was write or call concerning trucking issues and ruffled a few of Gov. Janklow’s feathers as well as then Congressman Thune’s, which prompted personal phones call from them to address certain trucking concerns 1st hand .

But that was many years ago and now we are in a new day and age, surrounded by progressive statists who have taken over our education system. They are dumbing down our youth by teaching untruths as to American history or totally disregarding it all together.

Thus, I have discovered a “political activist” gene within myself and had sent some shying away from me, even my own husband and family. However, facts are hard to dismiss when they are brought to the light of day and out of the pages of historic books or Congressional records and my shy family and friends are returning. By sticking to the facts of history and legislation that is irrefutable, those shy souls are listening and though they do not wish to become as active, that is alright with me. I am just happy to share the truth of our Nation, its Founding Fathers and our Constitution with whom ever will listen.

Which brings me to the reason for this post. I have many links to conservative bloggers, and for the most part I agree with what they write, but when they start attacking those who are brave enough to stand up for what is right, they discredit themselves and their sites. Instead of making fun of conservative patriots who are uttering misinformation rather loudly; I would think the responsible, proper and patriotic thing to do would be to educate and correct the misinfformation. I would think it a better use of their time and words to teach rather than calling them names and putting them down.

And before anyone goes off on me, yes I am guilty of this name calling when it comes to certain politicians, thus here and now, I make a vow to myself and my readers to be more respectful of the opposing side, thus no more nicknames, no matter how sarcastic my mood. Yes, those that know me, know I have this dark side and I will try to keep in in check.

In closing, I want to say that I do have a lot of respect for the bloggers I have links to and I encourage my readers to check them out. I however, do not condone the trashing of patriotic Americans exercising their right to use any tool available under the 1st Amendment to get their elected officials to uphold the Constitution. I also do not condone one using the founding fathers or the constitution as the premise to the credibility of their site when they do not practice what they preach.

PS…I had a nice e-mail from Bob at the Dakota Voice. Be sure to check out his site, especially East River readers. We can learn a lot from our West River friends.
